Wopee alternative: verify a change, not crawl the app

A Wopee alternative for agent-written web changes: Reticle reads network, state and console in the running app and replays flows with no model in the loop.

If you want a Wopee alternative that checks your coding agent's change inside the running web app, Reticle is built for that. If you want AI agents that crawl your app from a URL, generate Playwright and visual tests and keep them healed, Wopee.io is the stronger choice.

What Wopee.io does

Wopee.io: "Paste a URL. Wopee.io AI agents explore your web app, generate Playwright tests, run them across browsers, and self-heal when the UI changes" (wopee.io). It also generates visual regression tests, streams the browser in an interactive cockpit that pauses for MFA or CAPTCHA, and offers a managed-testing service.

An MCP server lets you "Test from Claude, Cursor, and other AI tools" (GitHub, MIT). Pricing is public: Free, Starter €19 per user a month, Basic €79, Premium €179, Enterprise custom (pricing, checked 2026-10-25). The platform is not open source.

What Reticle does

Reticle checks an AI coding agent's change from inside the running web app and returns a verdict with evidence. It reads the network calls, the application state and the console, and on React and Svelte it names the file:line to fix.

Your agent calls it through MCP while it works. Flows it drives are saved and replay deterministically, with no model in the loop. It also drives sites you don't own, reading network, console and DOM there; app state and file:line need its SDK in your build. The SDK is open source (Apache-2.0); the hosted platform runs the same checks on previews and pull requests.

Where Wopee.io is the better choice

  • You want coverage generated for you. Paste a URL and Wopee's agents explore and write tests. Reticle covers the flows that were driven and saved.
  • You want pixel baselines. Wopee generates visual regression tests. Reticle is not a pixel diff; in our benchmark a 2.3% CSS re-tint was caught by a screenshot and missed by Reticle (scorecard).
  • You want exportable Playwright code. Generated tests are yours to keep.
  • You want people in the loop. Wopee offers a managed-testing service.

Where Reticle is the better choice

  • You want this change checked, not the whole app crawled. Reticle runs in your coding agent's session on the flow it just changed.
  • The failure is under the screen. Reticle reads request counts, store state and console output after each step, so a double submit or a write that never persists fails.
  • You want re-runs that cannot flake. Replay has no model in the loop: eight replays, one verdict, and about 480 tokens for a four-flow suite.
  • You want the fix location. The verdict names the failing request or state and, on React and Svelte, the source line.

On 88 seeded bugs, Reticle caught 85 with no false alarms; two of the other three are traps a correct tool must not flag, and one is a genuine miss. The method is in the benchmark scorecard.

Can you use both?

Yes. Wopee builds broad coverage of the app from the outside; Reticle checks each agent change from inside. They work at different moments.

FAQ

What is the best alternative to Wopee.io?

The best alternative to Wopee.io depends on the job. For other agents that generate and heal end-to-end tests, look at Momentic, Checksum or QA Wolf. For checking that a coding agent's change worked inside the running web app, through network, state and console with the source line to fix, Reticle fits.

Does Wopee.io have an MCP server?

Yes, Wopee.io has an MCP server, wopee-mcp, published under the MIT license, so you can run its testing from Claude, Cursor and other AI tools. Its agents drive the app from outside. Reticle's MCP tools instead read network, state and console from inside the page and return a verdict.

How is Reticle different from Wopee.io?

Reticle is different from Wopee.io in how it checks. Wopee crawls the app and generates Playwright and visual tests that AI keeps healed. Reticle checks the flow your agent changed from inside the page, then replays it with no model in the loop, so the same flow gives the same verdict every time.

Why Reticle

Your agent says it works. Reticle checks.

  • Checks each change inside the running app: network, state and console, not a screenshot.
  • Returns a pass or fail with the evidence and the file:line to fix.
  • Open-source SDK on your machine, or the platform on every preview and PR.
