If you want an Endtest alternative that checks what each step did underneath the screen and that your coding agent calls while it builds, Reticle is built for that. If you want an AI agent that writes editable end-to-end tests for web and mobile and runs them on real devices, Endtest is the stronger choice.
What Endtest does
Endtest calls itself "the agentic AI platform for end-to-end test automation. The agent drives browsers and generates editable test steps for web and mobile" (endtest.io).
You give its AI Test Creation Agent a plain-English goal; it drives a real browser and emits steps you can edit. Endtest Bot explores apps, and locators self-heal. Its MCP server has 24 tools to list and run web and mobile tests, read results and manage the team, documented for Claude Code, Claude and ChatGPT (MCP docs).
Pricing is public: Starter $175 a month, Pro $450 a month, Enterprise custom, with unlimited runs and users (pricing, checked 2026-10-25). It is not open source.
What Reticle does
Reticle checks an AI coding agent's change from inside the running web app and returns a verdict with evidence. It reads the network calls, the application state and the console, and on React and Svelte it names the file:line to fix.
Your agent calls it through MCP while it works. Flows are saved and replay deterministically, with no model in the loop. It also drives sites you do not own, reading network, console and DOM there. The SDK is open source (Apache-2.0); the hosted platform runs the same checks on previews and pull requests.

Where Endtest is the better choice
- You need mobile and real devices. Endtest covers mobile and runs on a real-device cloud. Reticle is for web apps.
- You want tests written for you as editable steps. Its agent turns a goal into steps a QA engineer can review and edit.
- You want unlimited runs at a flat price. Endtest's plans include unlimited runs and users.
- An agent should explore an app you know little about. Endtest Bot explores apps to find tests to write.
Where Reticle is the better choice
- The failure is under the screen. A double request, a write that returns 200 and never persists, a store that disagrees with the page. Reticle reads those after each step, so they fail even when the screen looks right.
- The agent should verify its own change. Reticle's MCP lets the coding agent drive the running app and read a verdict before it says "done", with the source line to fix on React and Svelte.
- You want re-runs that cannot flake. Eight replays of a saved flow gave one verdict, and re-verifying four flows costs about 480 tokens.
- You want to start free and open source. The SDK is Apache-2.0 and runs locally.
On 88 seeded bugs, Reticle caught 85 with no false alarms (benchmark scorecard).
Can you use both?
Yes. Endtest can own broad end-to-end and mobile coverage that a QA team maintains. Reticle is the in-app check a coding agent runs on each change before it reaches that suite.

FAQ
What is the best alternative to Endtest?
The best alternative to Endtest depends on what you need checked. For a coding agent verifying its own changes inside a web app, reading network, state and console, Reticle fits. For another agentic end-to-end tool with mobile, compare platforms like Momentic or testRigor. For hand-written tests, Playwright fits.
How much does Endtest cost?
Endtest's Starter plan costs $175 a month and Pro costs $450 a month, with Enterprise priced on request and unlimited runs and users on every plan, as of October 2026. Reticle lets you start free with no card, and its in-app SDK is open source under Apache-2.0.
How is Reticle different from Endtest?
Reticle is different from Endtest in what a test reads. Endtest's agent writes steps that drive the browser and check what the page shows. Reticle checks the requests, application state and console after each step, points to the source line, and replays saved flows with no model.
Does Reticle have an MCP server like Endtest?
Yes, Reticle has an MCP server for Claude Code, Cursor and Codex. Endtest's MCP mainly lists and runs stored tests and reads results. Reticle's tools let the agent drive your running app step by step and get a verdict with evidence on its own change.
Why Reticle
Your agent says it works. Reticle checks.
- Checks each change inside the running app: network, state and console, not a screenshot.
- Returns a pass or fail with the evidence and the file:line to fix.
- Open-source SDK on your machine, or the platform on every preview and PR.
