If you want an Autify alternative that your coding agent runs on every change, checking what happened inside the app rather than replaying steps from outside, Reticle fits. If you want tests designed from requirements, mobile and desktop coverage, or on-prem execution, Autify covers more ground.

What Autify does

Autify is an "AI Platform for Software Testing" (autify.com). Autify Nexus lets teams "Write Tests In Natural Language" on a platform built on Playwright, with low-code and full-code modes and AI locator healing (Nexus). Autify Genesis turns requirements, Jira tickets and Figma designs into test cases. Autify Aximo is a vision-based testing agent for web, mobile and desktop.

Aximo has public pricing: a free trial with 2,000 credits, then Core from $99 a month billed annually and Team from $450 (pricing). Nexus and Genesis pricing is not public. Autify is not open source, but Nexus tests export to editable Playwright scripts.

What Reticle does

Reticle checks an AI coding agent's change from inside the running web app and returns a verdict with evidence. It reads the network calls, the application state and the console, and on React and Svelte it names the file:line to fix.

Your agent calls it through MCP in Claude Code, Cursor or Codex while it works. Saved flows replay deterministically with no model. The SDK is open source (Apache-2.0); the hosted platform runs the same checks on previews and pull requests.

Where Autify is the better choice

  • You design tests from requirements. Genesis turns PRDs, Jira and Figma into test cases before code exists. Reticle starts from the running app.
  • You test mobile or desktop apps. Aximo covers web, mobile and desktop. Reticle is web only.
  • You need on-prem. Nexus is positioned for regulated industries with on-prem and local execution.
  • Your QA team does not write code. Natural-language and recorder authoring suit testers who are not developers.
  • You want Playwright code at the end. Nexus exports editable Playwright scripts.

Where Reticle is the better choice

  • The check should happen before the PR. The agent verifies in the same session it writes the code, then fixes the file:line the verdict names.
  • The failure does not show on screen. Reticle reads request counts, store values and the console, so a double request or a write that never persists fails even when the page looks right.
  • You want deterministic, cheap re-runs. A saved flow replays with 0% flake over 8 replays; re-verifying a four-flow suite costs about 480 tokens.
  • You want open source and local. The SDK runs on your machine and nothing from your app leaves it unless you link a project.

On 88 seeded bugs, Reticle caught 85 with no false alarms (benchmark scorecard).

Can you use both?

Yes. Autify can own QA-authored end-to-end suites across web and mobile. Reticle checks each agent-written change while it is being made. They sit at different points: release coverage and development-time proof.

If your team explores before it scripts, exploratory testing, rebuilt for agents shows how a session becomes a regression check. Other comparisons are on the alternatives page.

FAQ

What is the best alternative to Autify?

The best alternative to Autify depends on who writes the tests. For QA-led natural-language testing across web and mobile, other low-code AI testing platforms compete directly. For developers whose coding agents should verify each change inside the running web app, Reticle fits, with an open-source SDK and a free start.

How much does Autify cost?

Autify's Aximo agent has public pricing: a free trial with 2,000 credits, then Core from $99 a month billed annually and Team from $450 a month billed annually, with Enterprise custom. Nexus and Genesis pricing is not public. Reticle's SDK is free and open source, and you can start on the platform free.

Does Reticle test mobile apps like Autify?

Reticle does not test native mobile or desktop apps. It verifies web apps, from inside the running app's development build. Autify's Aximo agent covers web, mobile and desktop, so teams that need native app coverage should use Autify or another mobile testing tool for that part.

Can Reticle generate tests from requirements?

Reticle does not generate test cases from requirements documents or designs. It verifies what the running app actually did after a change, and saves the flows your agent drives for deterministic replay. Generating test cases from PRDs, Jira or Figma before code exists is what Autify Genesis is for.

Why Reticle

Your agent says it works. Reticle checks.

  • Checks each change inside the running app: network, state and console, not a screenshot.
  • Returns a pass or fail with the evidence and the file:line to fix.
  • Open-source SDK on your machine, or the platform on every preview and PR.
